Welcome to Out Back Yoga Integrative Healing Arts Center!

Whether you are an experienced practitioner of yoga or have never experienced the practice and art of yoga, I would like to invite you, your family and friends to attend a class and explore the many benefits that this yoga community has to offer. Our Yoga and Ayurveda programs are created for men and women of all ages and stages of life who wish to begin or continue their journey toward a more peaceful way of co-existing with their body and mind while establishing a safe harbor for the soul to flourish.

It is the vision of Out Back Yoga to create a safe place for you to explore and experience the true essence of your being; to assist you with your growth through the teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda , and provide you with a range of class levels to chose from based on your current physical condition. It is also my mission to provide you with the opportunity, through classroom, workshops and events, to experience other broad spectrum and diverse healing modalities from our own as well as other cultural backgrounds.

To this end, I have brought on board with me two wonderful and talented women to help me seek out and bring to our studio highly qualified teachers as well as healing arts professionals and practitioners who are currently sharing their gifts in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. Penny Biroc and Brion Clarkson are both long term regular students at Out Back Yoga who have a keen sense of this community and its needs. Please read more about each of them on the Community Partners page!

I have been teching yoga for 15 years.  I am a graduate of the American Viniyoga Institute as a Certified Yoga Teacher (500 hours) and from the Equilibrium Yoga  program as a Certified Yoga Therapy Teacher with an additional 500 hours of training.  I've received additional trainings and certifications from many different teachers including the Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Program (40 hours).

In addition, I am an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner with a degree from the California College of Ayurveda (CCA) and hold numerous continuing education hours in Ayurvedic Body Treatment Therapies and in Ayurvedic Clinical Diagnosis from workshops at the the CCA and the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexoco (Please see the Ayurveda page for more information about Ayurveda http://www.outbackyoga.com/ayurveda.html). I hold active memberships in both the International Association of yoga Therapists and the national Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (NAMA)

I hope you enjoy this website! You will find descriptions of the different classes, workshops and center offerings in the schedule and events sections. If you need help determining the classes/programs that will best meet your needs, please e-mail or call me.
