Class Descriptions

Chair and Standing with Support; Yoga Therapeutics For Limited Mobility
This class is experienced as your ability to move will allow but always on or using a chair for support.  We will not be experiencing yoga on the floor.  Each asana will be modified to support the individual needs.  May be appropriate for those with hip, knee, shoulder replacement, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, heart disease, weight concerns and diabetes.   Please talk with instructor before beginning class.

20-20-20 and Active Seniors
This class is for the beginning, senior, continuing or active student with some limitations.  It is intended for the student who can get up and down from the floor with relative ease (but would rather not get on their knees), who likes the challenge of standing asanas but feel safer being able to hold on to a chair while practicing some of the more challenging yoga asanas.  This class may be especially useful for those with multiple sclerosis (without walker or wheel chair), uncomplicated chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, stress or injury related back, neck and shoulder pain or just a great place to begin your yoga experience.

Level 1 Super Stretch and Evening Gently Flow
Take this class to your own level of expertise! Evening is not the time to be "reving up your engines" but a little flow can help to relieve the tensions of the day. To this end, we practice flowing before holding to allow for personal exploration, and developmental strengthening. Restorative, pranayama and meditation also offered. Please...no serious injuries or chronic pain requiring one-on-one attention.

Level 1, 2 Gentle Vinyasa Flow
This is a great flowing yoga class for those who are ready for more movement in their practice. You can move a little fast or a lot slow, push it a little or chill a little, or somewhere in between as your need dictates. This class is best for continuing yoga students who already have a handle on the basic asanas and are ready to link them together. This class is not necessarily recommended for the beginning student or the physically challenged.

Level 3 Vinyasa Flow and Hold
Take the Gentle Flow Class and ramp it up several notches! A great way to receive a rigorous asana practice before getting on with your Saturday.

Meditations

Meditations serve as the groundwork for the deeper work of a yoga practice. Practicing yoga without meditation is like brushing your teeth without ever flossing. Out Back Yoga seeks to share the various meditation modalities without subscribing to any one doctrine or set of rigid absolutes. Often we will invite guest practitioners from a wide spectrum of meditation modalities to share with us different experiences of this core practice to guide you on your spiritual and yogic path. Please check the web page for current medical information.

Treat Yourself To A Private Yoga Session or Ayurvedic Consultation
Yoga and Ayurveda sessions are offered as private consultations scheduled on various days and times. Please talk with Kimberly directly about setting up your personal appointment.
