Specializing in mindful practices for women 50+ that encourage strong, healthy bones and the muscles that support them.

I take an innovative approach to providing you with an integrated, relaxing and holistically rejuvenating experience either via my Thursday Zoom sessions that you can enjoy in your own environment or via in person sessions and workshops.  I also offer 1-1 private sessions that will lead you to a greater awareness of your personal structural needs.

My intention is to encourage you to make positive lifestyle changes by guiding you to become more aware of habitual movement patterns that may be keeping you from experiencing a life without debilitating pain and discomfort.  Or movement patterns that create an overload of weight on aging bones that may lead to fractures.

I am located at the foot of the awe-inspiring Stoney Point in Chatsworth.  I'm also offering sessions in various locations in and around Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino mountains.

Welcome!
Kimberly Portrait

In 2003, I opened Out Back Yoga with the intention to serve the gently aging population as well as those who have been injured, are anxious, or are perhaps dealing with long/short term illness. Now having taught at my Chatsworth location for 23 years, I am among that gently aging population.  My cumulative training has given me time honored wisdom and my life experiences have informed me in a way that I feel fully qualified to serve others in a compassionate way.

The heart of my teaching suggests that you value your personal, long-term story by exploring an integrated yoga movement practice beginning from exactly where you are: without criticism or judgment, while choosing to engage in the adventure with an open mind.

Moving slower means we are moving with the intention to locate and communicate with all the secret tensions we hold on to and then strive to create new neuromuscular patterns to help us lean in to freedom.  Individuals are encouraged to begin and continue their practice from a desire to connect to an honest awareness of self from the inside out.

My completed trainings and certifications include Gentle Somatic Yoga®, both Hatha Yoga and Viniyoga Teacher Trainings, Therapeutic Yoga, The Essential Low Back Teacher Intensive, the Yoga of Recovery™, Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga training and Dance for All.   And, while I have chosen to discontinue offering it at this time, I also studied and became an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner through the California College of Ayurveda.  I most recently completed a certification course with Yoga University on Yoga for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia. Infused and informed by the rich wisdom of my inspired teachers, I am always exploring new and creative ways to incorporate these teachings into my offerings.

My ultimate aim… to help you gain greater satisfaction with your life by showing you ways to make “right” efforts over time that will lead you toward greater freedom of body, mind, heart and spirit using tools associated with gentle somatic practices.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kimberly Freesh, GSY®, CYT, CYTT, AHP
